FISHING

I absolutely love going fishing. Although some people think it is boring, to me it isnt. It is a sport where you can relax. I go fishing with my dad, We normally go to Lloyd Meadow Fisheries, Mescar Lake, Cheshire Fisheries and others.

If you go fishing and know a hotspot then could you please leave the name of the fishery and why you think i should go there.

(P.s... Newsham Park lake is terrible!!)

Do you agree with this list? Is there any boxers you would like to see in this list?
If so, then please tell me the boxers name and a reason why, leave it in the comment box

Thanks people ;-)

(Ps, i myself would like welshman Joe Calzaghe in there, above Oscar De La Hoya. Calzaghe is amazing and his record speaks for itsself, and just look at some of the boxers he has beat. Also i would like to see Floyd Mayweather Jr higher as his record also speaks for itself and his victory over Ricky 'The Hitman' Hatton was one of his best)

The Title Race

The premiership title race is now a three way battle. Manchester United are currently leading by one point and a game in hand from Liverpool and Chelsea. Liverpool are one point behind their rivals in second place and Chelsea are 4 points behind Man U and 3 points behind Liverpool in third position.

Manchester United have been dissapointing in recent weeks, being demolished by Liverpool 4-1 and then losing 2-0 against Fulham. Is the pressure getting to Sir Alex Feguson and his boys?

Liverpool are in fantastic form, they demolished Real Madrid in the Champions League over 2 legs, 5-0. Then they went on and beat Manchester United 4-1, and the following week, destoryed high flying Aston Villa 5-0. The player that has stood out for Liverpool over these weeks is the one and only Steven Gerrard. The only thing that can provide a stumbling block for Liverpools title challenge is the International matches, but can magician Rafael Benitez and his army of reds climb this barrier and continue their devastating form?

Chelsea have been in decent form. In the prem they have beat Aston Villa, Wigan, Portsmouth and Manchester City over the past month but then their fine form ended in thier last game when they were beat by Tottenham 1-0 thanks to a fine goal from Luka Modric. The stumbling blocks in Guus Hiddinks way are the points they are behind in the table and also the quite tough run in they have. Can Guus overcome these?

As a Liverpool fan, i hope that Rafa can outmaster all the other managers and win the Prem with Liverpool. They, (we i should say) have the qualities to win the league. Steven Gerrard, as quoted from French legend Zinezine Zidane, is (and i emphasise that is) the best player in the WORLD. He is better than Kaka and all the other great players...he is even better than Messi ! ........ Well in my eyes anyway.

Quote of the week

"Mark my words Ricky is going to stop him either to the body or to the head. But more than likely he is going to stop him to the body. Trust me."

This is the words of Floyd Mayweather ahead of Ricky Hattons scheduled boxing bout against Manny Pacquiao.

"We have to play Crouch because he is the best striker I can put in the starting XI"

This is the words of England boss Fabio Capello ahead of Englands match agains Ukraine.

King demands Khan rematch

Don King has demanded a rematch between Amir Khan and Marco Antonio Barrera.
The promoter has filed a protest with the British Boxing Board of Control, the World Boxing Organistion and the World Boxing Association after Khan won a technical decision at the MEN Arena.

King is claiming the fight, which was stopped in the fifth round due to a cut on Barrera's forehead - which needed 33 stitches - should have been ruled a no contest.

"Amir Khan is in possession of a tainted victory," said King.

"The referee and doctor should have stopped the fight immediately after that incredible, accidental clash of heads."

The clash came in the first round and Barrera, who was allowed to box on after an initial examination in the third, claimed after the fight that he he had butted. King is happy clear Khan of any blame, he believes referee Dave Parris should have waved the fight off before the fifth, which would have meant no need for the judges scorecards - which gave the Brit a unanimous decision.

"That they allowed the fight to continue with Barrera competing at a huge disadvantage goes against everything that's designed to protect the health and safety of boxers, the good of the sport and uphold the traditions emanating from the Marquis of Queensbury rules."

"Marco Antonio Barrera should not lose any of his position and stature to this travesty of justice.
He should not be punished for what was beyond his control. He fought like the great Mexican champion he is with valor, courage and honor while those charged with ensuring a level field of competition failed the sport and the fighter greatly"

I believe that King is right to want a rematch for Barrera against Khan. Amir Khan is a fantastic fighter but has a weak chin, and that was exploited by Prescott and that resulted in Khans first ever loss. When he fought Barrera, although he was ahead on points, i believe that Barrera would have won them points back in the latter stages of the bout. It was only for the cut (from the clash of heads) that the fight was stopped.

I hope that the mexican legend gets a rematch as it would be a mouth-watering bout !

Fury calls for Price match

Tyson Fury has called out heavyweight rival David Price to face him in an all-British showdown in Bethnal Green this month.

Unbeaten heavyweight Fury wants to fight Olympic bronze medallist Price when he steps through the ropes for his fifth professional fight in Bethnal Green on April 11. No opponent has signed up to face Fury as yet, and he wants Price to step up to the plate and make a quick reappearance after his debut to settle the score.

Price made a successful start to his career as a professional last weekend by beating Dave Ingleby and has already said he fancies facing Fury for the British title. Fury though, does not believe Price has what it takes to make it to such a level and has called for the Liverpudlian to face him on April 11. No guarantees

"If we are going to fight then we may as well fight now because based on his pro debut there's no guarantee David Price will make it to British-title level," said Fury.

"I'd love for the fight to happen when there are titles at stake because I think it would be a massive fight, but my worry is that with his chin Price won't make it that far."

"He says he'll do his talking in the ring, well here's his big chance, he can step up and fight me on April 11.

"I'm still waiting on an opponent so the job's there for him if he wants it. He says he wants to stay busy and he's just coming off a win, so here's his chance."

However, it appears unlikely that Fury, promoted by Hennessy Sports, and the Hayemaker Promotions-backed Price will meet so early in their careers.

The animosity between the two fighters would make for a spiky contest though, with Price already labelling Fury as 'disrespectful'. Despite only making four pro appearances himself, Fury believes he is much more professional than the 25-year-old - and claims his debut showed that.
Price was caught by Ingleby after dropping his hands after the referee called for a break, and that lapse almost cost him.

"He got hit with one clean shot in the whole fight and it had him all over the place. Imagine if that had been me hitting him?" added Fury.

"That proved to me that he's still an amateur. He was waiting for the ref to step in and protect him. I've heard he's blaming it on his gumshield falling out. He said it was too small and yet he says I'm the one with the big mouth!

"I hope he doesn't use his gumshield as an excuse for not fighting me next month"

I believe this would be a great bout for Britain and as a fellow Liverpudlian i will be following David Price. He seems a really good fighter as i watched him at the Olympics. I watched Tyson Fury in his previous bout and there wasnt nothing special about him. David Price does have the potential to beat him and hopefully he will.

COME ON PRICE !!!!!!!!!

Formula 1

http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12433_5121335,00.html

This is an article about the new formula one season and the new team Brawn GP.

I think that already it is looking like Brawn GP are going to win. Drivers Jensen Button and Rubens Barrichello took first and second in the first race.

Brawn GP have a huge advantage over all the other teams, they have more money. Also they have a 12 point advantage on all the other teams, just after this first race. They are looking like real contenders.

Top 10 Champions League Managers

1. Bob Paisley. Paisley, the former Liverpool manager who led the team for nine seasons, secured the club their first European Cup, and remains the only coach in history to take his side to three European Cup wins (1977, 1978 and 1981).

2. José Villalonga Llorente. Llorente won the European Cup twice, both times with Real Madrid. He was the first manager to win the trophy, in 1956, and at 36 years and 184 days, he remains to date the youngest coach to win the competition

3. Brian Clough. The Nottingham Forest manager won the European Cup twice, in 1979 and 1980 – a feat that is considered by many to be one of the most impressive in the competition's history considering the status of the side he was managing.

4. Helenio Herrera. Herrera won the competition twice with Inter Milan, in 1964 and 1965. He was one of the first managers to call the support of the "12th man", and left a lasting legacy: when fans look back to the club in the 1960s they still refer to it as Herrera's Inter.

5. Sir Alex Ferguson. Ferguson is generally considered one of the finest managers of all time. The Manchester United manager has won the Champions League twice, the first of which was in 1999, and most recently in 2008. Ferguson could join Paisley as the only managers to win the competition on more than two occasions.

6. Vicente del Bosque. Del Bosque coached Real Madrid from 1999–2003, the most successful spell in the club's modern history. He won the Champions League with Real twice, and finished in the last four of the competition every season he was in charge.

7. Arrigo Sacchi. Before becoming a football coach Sacchi was a shoe salesman, making his consecutive wins in 1989 and 1990 with AC Milan all the more impressive. He was appointed manager of Real Madrid as a result, but was not as successful in Spain.

8. Carlo Ancelotti. The Italian Ferguson, Ancelotti has won the Champions League twice, in 2003 and 2007, on both occasions with AC Milan. He is also one of only five men to have won the competition as both a player and manager.

9. Ottmar Hitzfeld and Ernst Happe. lHitzfeld, or 'der General' as he is sometimes known, and Happel are the only managers in the competition's history to win with two different teams. Hitzfeld guided Borussia Dortmund to the title in 1997, and Bayern Munich in 2001, while Happel took Feyenoord to the trophy in 1970 and Hamburg in 1983.

10. Luis Carniglia. This Argentine took Real Madrid to the final of the European Cup twice, winning in both 1958, with a 3-2 win over AC Milan, and in 1959, with a 2-0 win over Reims. However, he was sacked for leaving Ferenc Puskás out of the side in the win over the French side.

Top 10 Liverpool Players

10 JAN MOLBY. Although big Jan was overweight and never seemed to run anywhere, he could stay in the centre circle and receive the ball and play a pin point pass to any part of the pitch. Holds the record for penalties scored (42)

9 EMLYN HUGHES Old crazy horse was a no nonsence centre back who would go on mazy forward runs, rarely beaten in the air, Sadly missed and taken too young. R I P

8 GRAEME SOUNESS I have never seen such a competative hard player as Souness, was as hard as nails and would never shirk out of his responsabilities of being a midfield general.

7 MICHEAL OWEN A great goalscoring legend, Who decided to leave for Real Madrid to win trophies and missed out on the Champions League success in 2005.

6 IAN RUSH Ian rush was a natural born goalscorer and scored almost 350 goals for Liverpool in his career. won every major honour with the mighty reds.

5 ROBBIE FOWLER Growler was to me the most natural finisher to have ever wore the red shirt of liverpool FC. Sadly he has now seemed to have lost that magic touch.

4 PHIL NEAL The most comfortable right back I have ever seen, nothing flustered Phil and he is the most decorated Liverpool player with 20 winners medals. Another player who won every major honour with the reds and spent 9 seasons as an ever present player.

3 JAMIE CARRAGHER Jamie bleeds Liverpool red blood, he is the ultimate red and loved by all fan arround the world for his commitment and loyalty.

2 STEVEN GERRARD Stevie G has the ability to become one of the world greats of all time. His passing is sublime, long or short, He loves to get forward and is not affraid to put in the tackles.

1 KENNY DALGLISH King Kenny was and still is the greatest player to ever don a liverpool shirt. his vision and quick brain on the pitch was like no other player I have seen. Went on to manage Liverpool and won the league and FA Cup double in his first season.

Well that is my list of the top 10 Liverpool players. I could have listed more as i am an avid Liverpool Fan!
